The addition of an ADC Chip Detector to an ADC Oil Filter further increases its engine wear monitoring ability. The chip detector is mounted into a port in the filter, and warns the pilot when ferrous metal has been attracted by the unit's magnetic pole. This gives a pilot the ability to distinguish in-flight between bypass which has occurred due to normal contaminate build-up, and bypass due to engine wear.

The filter-mounted detector can be installed in both ADC Oil Filter Systems and Spin-On Kits. Includes installation instructions, amber indicator light, fuse holder, and all connectors and wiring.
